Working in partnership with educators

The ONE programme was developed in collaboration with a wonderful team of Early Years practitioners and teachers. We hope that the programme will support and inspire practitioners to provide high quality mathematical content to the children in their care, in line with the goals outlined by the Early Years Foundation Stage framework. We are always keen to have feedback on how to improve our programme, so please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any suggestions.

Building executive challenge into maths learning

Already by the age of 3 - 4 years, there are big differences in children's mathematical knowledge and ability. Our programme and activities are designed to provide children with the skills to tackle a broad range of different areas of maths. We believe that preschool is an ideal environment to reduce inequalities in maths performance before children start school.

Providing children with learning strategies to tackle maths in the future

Our programme doesn't only focus on children's knowledge of maths, but also aims to help children to develop the strategies that they will need to work towards new maths goals. We hope that the intervention will not only provide children with a strong basis in maths at preschool, but will also support them to develop their skills further once they reach primary school.
